A mild to the skin Chlorhexidine Gluconate aqueous antiseptic skin cleanser for effective procedural hand washing. MICROSHIELD*2 Chlorhexidine Skin Cleanser is effective against most Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria and has demonstrated activity against viruses.

Composition - The active ingredient is 2% w/v Chlorhexidine Gluconate. This solution also contains non-ionic surfactants, emollients and moisturisers all of which were specially selected for their mildness to skin and their compatibility with Chlorhexidine Gluconate. The activity of Chlorhexidine Gluconate is formulation dependent.

Actions - Chlorhexidine Gluconate is absorbed through the bacterial cell wall obstructing its permeability. It interferes with the cell’s physiological activity leading to its destruction. Chlorhexidine Gluconate provides cumulative and residual protection against micro-organisms

Indications - Antimicrobial handwashing for healthcare personnel.
